Un negocio perfecto cerró el Aston Villa. Es que vendió a James Milner al Manchester City y además de asegurarse unos 18 millones de euros para sus arcas, abrochó al talentoso Stephen Ireland, el mediocampista internacional irlandés de 24 años de edad, quien llega como moneda cambio del City.

El irlandés se unió al Villa por las próximas cuatro temporadas y así se mostró el día de su presentación: "Tengo un montón de ambiciones personales. Quiero volver a jugar de la manera que puedo. No he jugado 90 minutos en casi ocho o nueve meses, que realmente no es normal para mí".
